The word I choose to analyze was Profession from Mrs. Warren’s Profession. I think this word can mean many different things, especially in the play. A profession is a vocation founded up specialized education training, the purpose of which is to supply the objective counsel and service to other , for a direct definite compensation, wholly apart from expectation of other business gain. There are many different professions in this world and there is a rank of order, like there is in everything else in life.
In Mrs. Warren’s profession, many would consider her early profession not very professional. Running a brothel which is a place that people come to engage in sexual activity with a prostitute. Many people do not condone this kind of behavior or profession if that is what you want to call it. Mrs. Warren’s other profession is being a mom, which if you read the play, she was not very good at. Her daughter and her did not get along very well and were secretive towards each other. Most want to excel at being a profession of being a mom, but others lack this ambition and choose to go after other things in life.
