The Showcase will highlight student work from the 2015/16 academic year, and will include viewings of short films and animations from DTC courses.
Awards will be given for outstanding achievement in print
design, live action film/video, documentary film/video, web design, stop-motion animation and 3D digital animation.
We will be holding an end-of-year gathering after the Awards. There will be cake, refreshments and mingling.

Reflecting upon his extensive travels in Scotland, Kirk McAuley will discuss literary scholarship afoot – the importance of walking as research vis-à-vis Robert Louis Stevenson.
Linda Russo, Clinical Associate Professor of English
Linda Russo will talk about her experience of walking locally as a form of cultivating imaginative, geographic, and biome knowledge in the writing of her recent book of poems, MEANING TO GO TO THE ORIGIN IN SOME WAY.

Eileen Pollack is an award-winning author of fiction and nonfiction whose novel, Breaking and Entering, won the Grub Street National Book Prize and was a New York Times Editor’s Choice selection. She also is the author of Paradise, New York, a novel, and two collections of short fiction. Her creative nonfiction includes Woman Walking Ahead: In Search of Catherine Weldon and Sitting Bull and The Only Woman in the Room: Why Science Is Still A Boys’ Club. She teaches in the Masters of Fine Arts Program at the University of Michigan.

Taryn Fagerness is the owner of Taryn Fagerness Agency, a literary agency based in Tacoma, Washington, which she founded in 2009. Prior to starting her own agency, she worked at the Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency in Del Mar, California as an agent and subsidiary rights manager. She graduated from Washington State University Honors College in 2002 (Go Cougs!) and went on to attend the New York University Summer Publishing Institute.

The office of Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) is seeking interns for summer 2017. Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will gain valuable experience supporting legislative staff and will learn about the operations of a congressional office. Responsibilities will include: conducting legislative research, providing office support, answering phones, assisting with constituent correspondence, leading tours of the U.S. Capitol, and assisting staff with projects as assigned. Interns in the district office in Beaverton, Oregon will assist the outreach staff and caseworkers, research policy issues, help with constituent communication through mail and phone calls and attend meetings with the Congresswoman. Successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and an interest in learning more about the legislative process. Candidates with Oregon ties are strongly encouraged to apply.

IES Internships is excited to offer guaranteed full-time semester internship programs in Milan and Santiago for your students this fall!
Full-time semester internships are a great fit for students…
- Whose majors require a semester-long work experience
- Who can graduate early or have an open semester, or
- Who recently graduated and would like to gain international experience prior to entering the workforce
Both programs offer unpaid, full-time internship placements; a required 3-credit internship seminar course taught at the IES Abroad Center; as well as IES Abroad housing, staff and support services, and optional field trips.
The application deadline for Milan and Santiago semester internships for Fall 2017 is Monday, May 15th.
Full-time semester internships are also available in Barcelona, Dublin, London, and Rome.
